Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about ISBNFetch. Can't find an answer? Email us.

Is ISBNFetch free to use?
Yes. Every new account gets 50 free scans with no credit card required. When you need more, you can buy credits starting at $9.99 for 300 scans. Credits are valid for 12 months.
How many free scans do I get?
New accounts receive 50 free scan credits on sign-up. These expire after 12 months.
Do I need to download an app?
No. ISBNFetch runs entirely in your web browser. The barcode scanner uses your device camera through the browser — no app installation required. It works on desktop, iOS, and Android.
What book information does ISBNFetch return?
For each ISBN, ISBNFetch returns: title, authors, publisher, publication date, page count, language, description, cover image, categories, and subjects.
What ISBN formats are supported?
ISBNFetch supports ISBN-10 and ISBN-13 (978 and 979 prefixes). You can scan EAN-13 barcodes on book covers, type an ISBN manually, or upload a file with multiple ISBNs for batch lookup.
Can I scan books without an account?
You can try the scanner without signing up, but results are not saved to a library. Creating a free account lets you track your scans, access your library, and export your collection.
Does ISBNFetch work on mobile?
Yes. The site is fully responsive and the camera barcode scanner works on iOS and Android browsers. No app download is required.
How do I export my library to CSV?
Open your Library page and click the Export button. You can download your full collection as CSV (opens in Excel, Google Sheets, or Numbers) or JSON.
Do credits expire?
Credits are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Free sign-up credits also expire after 12 months.
How accurate is the ISBN scanner?
ISBNFetch queries multiple book databases and returns the highest-confidence result. Accuracy depends on the book being in our source databases — newer and widely distributed titles have the best coverage. Rare, self-published, or very old books may return limited data.
Can I use ISBNFetch to price used books for resale?
ISBNFetch returns the book's metadata (title, publisher, edition) which helps you identify a book quickly. It does not show market prices or marketplace listings.
What is batch ISBN lookup?
Batch lookup lets you upload a plain text file with one ISBN per line and look up hundreds of books at once. Results can be downloaded as a single CSV file.
